Posted on:

This year, the Seattle Film Critics Society (SFCS) continues the tradition of honoring Pacific Northwest filmmaking as part of their annual awards. SFCS is proud to announce the nominees for the 2026 PNW Short Film Award.

Five finalists were selected by a nominating committee who spent the year carefully considering recent short films whose primary production took place in the Pacific Northwest. SFCS will screen this special shorts program as part of its PNW Awards Screening Series at the SIFF Film Center on Saturday November 14th at 12:00pm.

The nominees are:

  • Dicks-A-Thon (dir. Dylan Young)
  • Katya (dir. Timofey Pozhitkov)
  • Oh Whale (dir. Winslow Crane-Murdoch)
  • Roll Modelz (dir. Oliver Rodriguez Dickson & Yahir Tzec-Carrasco)
  • Scout’s Honor (dir. Isabel Pask)

The five shorts that comprise the selection showcase the breadth of short film production across the Pacific Northwest, hailing from Seattle and Walla Walla, Washington down to Florence, Oregon. An exciting mix of documentary and narrative work, these are bold and compelling films that celebrate connection and find hope amidst conflict. They truly capture the distinctive essence of the region.

SFCS sends a sincere congratulations to the filmmakers and production teams behind these remarkable shorts.

The SFCS 2026 PNW Short Film Award nominees will screen on Saturday, November 14 at 12:00pm at the SIFF Film Center with filmmakers from the projects in attendance for a Q&A following the screening. The winner will be determined by a vote of the full SFCS membership and announced alongside SFCS’s annual awards on December 14, 2026.
