The Seattle Film Critics Society (SFCS) Will Present the John Hartl Pacific Northwest Spotlight Award to Kyle MacLachlan and Screen ‘The Hidden’ at SIFF Cinema Downtown on October 30
The Seattle Film Critics Society (SFCS) is proud to present the 2024 John Hartl Pacific Northwest Spotlight award to Kyle MacLachlan. Named in honor of the late great Seattle Times film critic, the Hartl award recognizes the outstanding work of a person with local ties to the region. Born in Yakima, MacLachlan has starred in classic films like Dune, Blue Velvet, Showgirls, and The Hidden as well as iconic series like Twin Peaks, Portlandia, and the recent Fallout. His contributions to cinema make him one of the most talented performers to call Washington home.
Kyle MacLachlan will be in attendance for the presentation of the Hartl award, a moderated conversation spanning his career, and a screening of the cult sci-fi classic The Hidden. The event will take place on October 30th at SIFF Cinema Downtown.
“For over 40 years, Kyle MacLachlan has proven himself a master of screens both big and small as he has tackled most every genre, all the while maintaining a potent working relationship with the incomparable David Lynch, culminating in 2017’s masterful Twin Peaks: The Return. We are thrilled to present this award to one of the Pacific Northwest’s most gifted performers,” said Kathy Fennessy, SFCS President.
Tickets to the awards presentation, screening, and post-film Q&A are available at siff.net/cinema/in-theaters/the-hidden.
