The Seattle Film Critics Society (SFCS) continues to seek to expand and diversify our membership and we are always excited to have new Seattle-area critics join our ranks. Our annual membership application period is now open; area critics are encouraged to apply for consideration by June 30th.
Full details on joining SFCS are available on our website. Applications will be reviewed by the Membership Committee in July.
In brief, SFCS members should be a working film critic who reviews at least 25 new release theatrical movies in the greater Seattle area per year. Throughout the year, our members participate in a variety of screenings and community events, including in-person spotlighting the best features and short films made in the Pacific Northwest, often with filmmakers in attendance for Q&As. In addition, members access FYC screenings and vote for SFCS annual awards to highlight the best films of the year, which are revealed at at our annual awards party.
